Day zero First city who faced is Cape Town in South Africa because of no rainfall there for three years

well ! Our Chennai is the second city that facing day zero now because of conquent monsoon failure and nil monsoon showers

1. People have begun sinking borewells upto 700 feets to find a ground water
2. Multi-storey apartments & IT Companys in pallavaram,thiruvanmiyur,omr who do not have metro water connection depends only on private lorry tankers for drinking waters
3. Tamilnadu government reports 9000 tanker lorries per day supply water to the omr area
4. They have begun to sell for more money to water tanker (per day ) Now 12000 Litres is 5000 rs

Before 20 days price is 2000 rs

This is what happens In whole tamilnadu in summer no one notices but when it comes to city everyone talk about that..

How do we avoid day zero ?

1. Take care Existing water bodies (pond,lake ,river etc)
2. Rain water harvesting

For us to follow :

1. Recycling waste water on micro level
2. Remove leaked taps on home
3. Try to save water for our childrens
